Dreaming of the Next Time

Happy Friday, MarkerPOP friends! How has your week been going? I have managed to sneak in some crafting time and cannot wait to show you the creations I have completed. But first, let's move on to today's project.

Have you seen the cute My Favorite Things' Somebunny I Love stamp set? I fell in love with this stamp set as soon as I saw it. That sleeping bunny is super adorable!

The image is cut a few times onto white cardstock. I colored in the image using Chameleon markers. I also stamped the image onto a printed paper. The blanket part of the image is cut out and attached onto the colored image. For the background of the card, I stamped the teddy bear images with gray ink. To fill in some of the empty spaces, I stamped stars. Some of the stars are colored in with yellow. Those stars are also covered with Wink of Stella-Clear to give the stars some sparkle. The sentiment is stamped onto a printed strip of paper and attached at the top of the card. The bunny image is attached to the card using foam dots.

Joy Clair - Be Brave Bible Page

Hello, Joy Clair friends! This month, the design team is showing the different types/techniques that can be done with watercolors. There are several different types of supplies that can be used for watercolors. There are paints, stamping inks, and markers that can be used!

Today, I created a Bible page pairing up the Be Brave stamp set and Peerless watercolors:

Peerless watercolors are very bright and colorful. I was afraid that the color would bleed through to the other side, so I cover the page with gesso. To make sure the page dried completely, I left the page alone overnight.

When it was time to start decorating the page, I stamped the teepee image with black ink and allowed the ink to dry. I used a blue, purple, and black paints to create the night background. A dark green is used for the ground. I used a variety of other colors to color in the teepee. The phrase stamp is stamped above the teepee. I was afraid that the black ink did not pop against the blue, so I used a white gel pen and highlighted the main words. While I had the gel pen out, I added some stars to the nighttime sky.

I used a black pen and ruler to underline the verse I was focusing on. This is where I had planned to stop the page. At the last minute, I decided to randomly stamp the arrow images from the Be Brave stamp set. The images are stamped with black ink and colored in using ZIG markers.

You Warm My Heart

Happy Friday, MarkerPOP friends! Are you a coffee drinker? I know that a lot of fans out there. I, however, I am not a coffee drinker, but I do love the smell of it!

Today, I am sharing a super fun card using the Mug Hugs stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps:

I used a couple different distress inks to color the background of the card. I stamped some ink onto a stamp block and used a wet paintbrush to paint on the color. Once the background dried, I stamped the cup image with a dark brown. The heart image is stamped in the center of the cup with red ink. The sentiment is stamped with a darker brown ink. I used a circle punch and placed a circle over the sentiment. I used water down brown ink and splattered randomly over the card. I used a fancy die to create the panel of the card. The panel is then attached to a white cardbase.

Today, I am sharing a super cute card using the Poppin' In stamp set from Waffle Flower.

To start this card, the dresser image is stamped onto white cardstock. The dresser is colored in with a variety of brown Chameleon markers. The drawer image is stamped and colored in with a variety of Chameleon markers. A stitched rectangle die is used to cut out the dresser panel. The panel is attached to a floral print from the Echo Park Just Be You paper pad. The radio is stamped on top of the dresser image. The radio is colored in with a gray marker. The drawer image is cut out and attached using foam dots. The sentiment is stamped with black ink towards the bottom of the panel. The final touch is to add a few clear drops around the card.

Joy Clair - Wild & Free Galaxy Scene

Hello, Joy Clair friends! This month, the design team is showing the different types/techniques that can be done with watercolors. If you have noticed lately, galaxy backgrounds have been very popular. I have tried this watercolor technique a few times and learning different ways to improve it.

I decided to create a scene card using the new Wild & Free stamp set and a variety of watercolor mediums.

To start the galaxy background, I used a few watered down distress inks and painted the sky portion of the panel. I used purple, black and a couple blues to create the sky.

Once the watercolor dried, I dropped a few water drops over the paint. I did this by dipping a brush in water and tapping the brush to create the water drops.

The water drops are left on the paint for a couple of minutes. When it is time to remove the water drops, simply place a paper towel over the drops and press lightly to soak up the water.

To finish the galaxy background, I added some speckles of some watered down white acrylic paint. I used the same tapping the paint brush to get the speckles.

Now it is time to complete the rest of the scene. I used ZIG Clean Color markers to color in the mountains. The mountains are cut out and attached to the scene. I used watered down distress ink to paint the water part of the scene.

The fox and the canoe are stamped in black ink and colored in with ZIG Clean Color markers. The images are cut out and attached to the scene. I used a fancy rectangle to cut out the panel. The panel is added to a fun print and mounted onto a card base.  The sentiment is stamped in white and also embossed with white embossing powder.

Joy Clair February Release Blog Hop

Hello, Joy Clair friends! Are you enjoying hopping along with Joy Clair for their February Stamp Release? You should be arriving from the talented Lindsay's blog. If you just happened upon my post and interested in starting the hop at the beginning, start HERE at the Joy Clair blog!

So let's talk about this release! Isn't it super adorable! I am in love!!!

No automatic alt text available.

Today, I am showcasing the new Prayer Warrior set from the Color by Faith stamp line.

I started by stamping the images in a light color ink. I used a variety of watercolor pencils to color in the images. The colors were very light, I had to complete 3 layers to the color to get darker. Once I was happy with the coloring, I outline the images with the same pencils.

To complete the page, I used alpha sticker in a variety of color and sizes. I stamped the phrase onto the Bible page. I accidently smeared the ink as I stamped and did not like the outcome. I ended up stamping the phrase onto a printed paper and attached the paper to the Bible page.

Let's talk about the prize! Make sure to stop at each spot and leave a comment! This will increase your chances to win a $25 gift card to the Joy Clair store! You must leave the comment by February 6th at midnight.

Please continue on this hop by hopping on over to Lori's blog!

You COLOR My World

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! It is Jessi here! It seems like everywhere I turn, I am running into projects that include rainbows. When I first saw the Color Me Happy stamp set from Sunny Studios, I could not wait to get me hands on it!

Today I am working with the Color Me Happy stamp set and coordinating die:

I took a collection of ZIG Clean Color markers and did a swatch of each color onto some watercolor cardstock. I used a rainbow die and cut it out of each color. I grabbed one piece of each color to form the rainbow. I also used a variety of cloud dies and attached three of them across the card.

To complete the card, I used the coordinating die and used black cardstock to form part of the sentiment. I used stamped words to complete the sentiment.

ZIG Clean Color Markers used for this card: 020, 030, 047, 050, 082
