Joy Clair's Flamingo Bible Page

Hello, Joy Clair friends!!! Today I am super excited to share one of the latest Bible pages. I could not wait to get to work with the Color by Faith's Be a Flamingo stamp set! I did have a hard time deciding which one to work with first...flamingos or the pineapple. Flamingos it was!

Here is my page using the Color by Faith's Be a Flamingo set:

To start this page, I stamped the flamingos at the bottom of the page. I did use the masking technique on the two flamingos on the right side of the page. In doing this technique, it gives the illusion that one flamingo is standing behind another one.

I used Prima Watercolors to color in that scene. I used a pink for the flamingos. A tan for the beach. A dark blue for the ocean water and a lighter blue for the sky.  Once the watercolor was dry, I stamped a variety of the word stamps from the Flamingo stamp set.

No Line It's Your Birthday

Happy Friday, MarkerPOP friends! Who is ready for the weekend? I know that I am! It is the last weekend before the kiddos go back to school! And this mama is ready to get back to a regular schedule!!!

Today, I am sharing a birthday card I created using the No-Line Coloring technique:

To start this card, I stamped the large birthday sentiment from the Waffle Flower's Eat Cake stamp set. The stamp is done with a light colored ink onto watercolor cardstock.  I really wanted the sentiment to pop, so I used a variety of neon Zig Clean Color markers to color in the image. I completed the image with the rainbow effect.

This is simply technique to do. All you need to do is take you time and follow the lines!!!

The following ZIG Clean Colors were used on today's card:
001, 002, 003, 004

Here is my latest Bible Journaling Page:

When I first saw this stamp set and some of the fonts used, I was reminded of a chalkboard. I decided to create the chalkboard look using black cardstock and white ink. I cut down a piece of cardstock to fit the margins of the Bible. Each stamped image is done with white ink. Once the images are stamped I lightly smudged each one to spread the ink. The last step is to run the white ink pad around the edges.

Remember that we always have prizes for our readers and visitors that comment HERE in our corporate blog and in ALL designers blog.

Happy Trails

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! The summer is coming to an end! School has either begun or about to begin. Why not try to fit in one last vacation or getaway? My family keeps hinting that they want to go camping. Now only if I had a camper to make that night stay easier!!!

Today I am showcasing the SugarPea Designs RV There Yet stamp set and Chameleons:

For this card, I used a variety of prints from the paper pad to paper-piece the camper. There were a few different pieces that were colored in with a few Chameleon markers. After adding a couple of the different word stamps from the set, there was some white space in one corner. I decided to cut out one of the teepee and fire and attach to the card.

The following Chameleon markers were used on today's card:

YL2, OR4, RD2

Sending Birthday Wishes

Hello, MarkerPOP. What is on your bucket list? I have been thinking about mine lately and keep adding to it! One thing is to take a hot air balloon ride. Have you ever been on one? I would love to...I think...not a fan of heights!

With hot air balloons on the mind, I figure I needed to create a card using the Waffle Flower's Across the Miles and Chameleon markers:

To begin this card, I stamped the balloon image onto white cardstock and colored in with a variety of Chameleon markers. The image is cut out and set aside. I wanted to add blue to the background of the card. I recently received the NUVO Embellishment Mousse and wanted to find a way to use it. I applied the cream to the card and blended it around using a baby wipe.

Once the background dried, I stamped the cloud images in grey ink. The hot air balloon is attached using foam tape. The sentiment banner is stamped at the bottom of the card with grey ink. The sentiment is stamped in black ink.

The following Chameleon markers were used on today's card:
BG4, PR4, PK3, YO3, OR4, BR2, BR4

Joy Clair - Embossing and Bible Journaling

Hello, Joy Clair friends! Today I am excited to share my latest Bible page with you. I have tried to using embossing powder on a page before. My gun ended up getting too hot and turning the page brown. So I spent some time trying to figure out how to work my gun with the thin pages in the Bible. I believe that I finally figured it out and love how this page turned out!

Today I am showcasing the adorable Color by Faith's Be Brave stamp set:

When I start a page, I like to begin with positioning the stamps to get an idea of what I want the page to look like. Once this is done, it allows me a better idea of where to put my paint. The larger painted areas and for the different phrases. The paint lines are were the different arrows will be stamped.

Now it is time to stamp and emboss! One by one, I stamp the images on top of the painted area. Right away, I add the embossing powder and heat with the heat gun. (I let my gun heat up before I aim it towards the page. Once I move to the page, I move the gun in a circle motion to hit the entire embossed area.) I repeat this process until all the images are complete.

To finish the page, I added some paint swatches of gold.

Howdy, Howdy, Howdy

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! Cactus are very popular right now. I don't know about you, but I cannot get enough of them. I have plenty stamps and papers covered with them! Why not add more to?!?

Today I am pairing up the Stamping Bella's SG Cactus and Echo Park's Just Be You paper pad:

I stamped the cactus onto light green paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I used a few different shades of green Chameleon markers to color in the image. The cactus are cut out and set aside. I used a few different prints, layered on the card base to start this card. To make the cactus pop, I added a circle die cut from the starry print from the paper pad.

To finish the card, I used the stamp 'Howdy' from the SG Cactus stamp set and repeatedly stamped across a printed strip of paper. This strip is then attached to the card using my Scotch glue tape.

The following Chameleon markers were used on today's card: GR2, GR4, CB

This month's challenge is:

Agosto Challenge - Layers

I used the Sunflower stamp set for my challenge card.

I stamped the images onto kraft cardstock. The images are colored in using colored pencils. I love the look of color popping of the kraft cardstock. (I just need to work on my coloring skills.)

Let's Have Adventure

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! Do you like adventures? I would like to say that I do. But I have found that as I get older, my adventurous level is decreasing! We are taking the kids to their first waterpark in a few weeks. This will be my second time ever to one. I am sort of freaking out!

Today's card features the Sugar Peas Design's Lantern die and RV There Yet:

The lantern die cut is made using black cardstock. I also ran the die with white cardstock to get the center piece. The center piece is colored in using Distress Crayons. I blended them with a baby wipe. Once the cardstock is dry, I stamped the phrase onto the white cardstock. The lantern is attached to a starry print.

I used the following Distress Crayons: Spiced Pumpkin and Mustard Seed.

I love this lantern! Makes me want to go on a camping adventure...maybe when the temperatures cool down!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Hello Gorgeous

Hello, friends! Can you believe that July is almost over?!? School starts back up in less than one month. What have you been doing to fill up your days? We finally took the family to the beach today. First time this year and then we realized we never went last year. So hopefully, we can sneak in one more trip before school starts!

Today I am working with the Waffle Flower's Pretty Foliage and Chameleon markers:

So I was a little late to the MISTI fan train. I have it for some time now and just recently found out how awesome the system is! I love how you can stamp the image in the same spot repeatedly for crisper lines. Once the ink was dry, it is time to color in with Chameleon markers. I tried to use colors from the fun print below.

Once the images were colored in, the sentiment is add in the top left corner. The sentiment is colored in using orange and yellow. The panel is then attached to the printed paper and then attached to the card base.

The following Chameleon markers were used on today's card:
RD2, RD4, YG3, GR3, GR4, OL3, YL2, YO2, OR3, OR4, PK3

Thank you for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Joy Clair is Hopping with Quick Quotes

Hello, Joy Clair friends! This is a super fun week on the Joy Clair blog. We have teamed up with Quick Quotes for a week long promotion. The design teams from both companies are sharing a variety of projects in hopes to inspire you to get crafty!

Image may contain: text

When I received my Quick Quote papers and embellishments, I figured it was time to attempt another scrapbook layout. I decided to highlight the anchors that are included in the Anchors Aweigh collection. I used a few different Joy Clair stamp sets on this layout: Soft Letters, Anchors of Hope and Bible Planner.

A few different prints from the Anchors Aweigh collection were used for layers on the layout. I really wanted to highlight the anchors, so I decided to use a large piece of the navy/white anchor print to go across the page. The title of the page is created using a mixture of stamps and stickers. The word 'anchor' is created using letters from the Soft Letters stamp set. The letters are stamped onto a print and cut out.

Multiple pieces of the chipboard embellishments from the Anchors Aweigh collection are also used on the layout. The picture is highlighted with the chipboard photo corners. A couple worded embellishments are used as extra detail. To break up some of the empty space, I used a sticker saying that is also part of the Anchors Aweigh collection.

One of the last details of the layout is the peach anchor. I used the anchor from the Anchor of Hope stamp set and stamped it onto the paper. Once the image is cut out, I poked a hole in the top and placed a string of white twine. I looped the twine around the page by gluing sections of the twine to the paper. To finish the page, I used the numbers from the Bible Planner stamp set to stamp the date onto the bottom of the layout.

Let talk about prizes! All you have to do is leave comments of the Quick Quote blog and the Joy Clair blog throughout the week to increase your chance of winning. The winners will be announced on the companies' blogs.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week! Please make sure to stop by and check out more of the Quick Quotes and Joy Clair Cross Promotion!

Aloha Pineapples!

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! Pineapples are really popular right now! They are everywhere! Stamps...Papers...even Home Décor! I love them!!! So when I saw the super cute Lawn Fawn's Aloha stamp set, I had to have it!!!

I decided to pair up the stamp set with Chameleon markers and used the no-line technique:

The pineapple image is randomly stamped across a blank card. I used a light colored ink, so it 'disappears' once the image is colored in. The stem of the pineapples were colored in first. The Chameleon markers YG3 and GR3 were used. The body of the pineapple were colored in with the YL2 and YO3 markers.

To fill the empty space on the card, I stamped the 'aloha' word across the card. To finish the card, I used a brown fine tip pen and added the spikes to the pineapples.
