Pink & Main Sun-Kissed Vacation

Happy Saturday, Pink & Main friends! Who is dreaming of a tropical summer? I know I am! How much better could it be than to sit on the beach with a good book to read? However, I don't have a vacation like that planned in the near future, so why not create a card to inspired by one!

For this card, I used the following Pink & Main stamp sets: Tickled Pink, Birthday Boy, and Planning Vacation.

The first step is to create the scene with a variety of stamps stamped with embossing ink and embossing with white powder. Once the scene is complete, it is time to bring out the watercolors. It is some much fun to watercolor this way. I am by far a beginner when it comes to watercolor. So having the embossing images, makes it easier to "paint in the lines". To finish the card off, the sentiment is formed from words on different stamp sets.

Happy Father's Day from Pink & Main

Let me start off with saying --- Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there--- from the Pink & Main crew!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I know that Father's Day is tomorrow, but we started a little earlier today. Resulting in this late Saturday evening post!

Today's card, I used the Pink & Main's Super Dad stamp set:

I stamped the superhero in black ink and colored in, with a variety of markers. The background was super easy to create. A blue watercolor is used to create the sky. (Please remember to use watercolor paper...unless you want it to warp...oops!) I used a skyline diecut with black cardstock. A few windows were popped out and some yellow cardstock added to the back. Attach the superhero and stamp a simple sentiment! Viola the card is finished!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Pink & Main Birthday Boy

Happy Saturday, Pink & Main friends! I hope you are having an awesome Saturday! Today, I am getting a slow start to the day! It is a gloomy, rainy day here on the Texas Coast. A perfect day to get my craft on!

Today's card is using one of Pink & Main's June release stamp sets - Birthday Boy.

The birthday boy image is stamped and colored in with a variety of markers. The balloons for the same image are stamped on a couple of different prints. This was done to paper-piece the balloons. The boy and balloons are attached to a patterned backing. The corners of the backing are rounded. The card base mat is create with 2 different prints. To finish of the card, a few sequins are added to the card.

DCWV - Hello, Little One!

I am excited to be on the DCWV blog today! I don't know about you, but I have a hard time matching prints together. To make it easier on me, I tend to stick with using prints from the same collection. DCWV stacks make this SUPER simple! I normally use a solid card base, but with all the pretty prints they include in their stacks, I could not resist switching it up on today's card.

Today I am using the DCWV Baby Boy Stack available at Michaels.

The A2 card base is formed by using a fun plaid print available in the stack.  I loved the blue foil polka dots, so I used that as a mat for the sentiment. From the beginning, I knew that I was going to use the adorable Pink and Main Stamps (Little One), so I used a circle die to create the background for the elephant. Once I attached the circle, I trimmed off the excess.

Two different gray prints were used to paper-piece the elephant. When it came time for the sentiment, I used a banner that was printed in the stack. I attached the banner to a toothpick to make it look like the elephant was holding it. The rest of the sentiment is stamped onto a diecut below the banner.

I had so much fun working with this card. I truly enjoyed using a print as the card base! I think I will be doing this more often!

Have a great day!

Get Whale Soon!

Happy Saturday! It is my day on the Pink & Main Stamp blog! If you are unfamiliar with Pink & Main, you need to check out their shop! Their images are awesome to work with. They are easy to color and even easier to paper-piece!

Today's card is using the new Whale of a Time stamp set, from the upcoming June release!

This whale is adorable! It is stamped onto a gray print and cut out. I chose to use chevron print for the water.  Using an Exact-o knife, I cut along the edges of the blue chevron. This allowed the whale to slip into the paper, making it look like it was swimming in the water.  To finish the card, I stamped the simple sentiment onto a banner diecut and added some enamel dots.

I hope you enjoyed today's card! It uses just one of the amazing stamp sets being released this month!

Thank you for stopping by!

Create A Smile Guest Designer Call Entry

I am finally going to throw my name into the Create A Smile Stamp July Guest Designer Search. I love the Create A Smile images! And would love to be part of the talented team! You can check out the details, HERE!

Here is my Create A Smile creation using their Underwaterlove stamp set.

To create this card, I used a few different watercolor techniques to form the background. (Honestly, I tried one technique...ink smooshing, and it didn't really work out. So I finished it off with a traditional paint brush.) I also added drops of water onto the focal part of the watercolor. After a few seconds, I used a paper towel to soak up the water.

As the watercolors dry, I moved on to the stamped images. Using variety of markers, I colored in the images and cut them out. I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner.

Little Tangles Challenge - Sketch

Hi! It's time to announce a new challenge today...
We are excited to be teaming up with Leslie Hanna and her sketch challenge for this one. Here's the sketch that Leslie created for the challenge...

Here is my card using the Neat and Tangled Send Pretty Mail and Everyone Circles stamp sets.

I am determined to improve my watercoloring skills. So I decided to use the flowers from the Send Pretty Mail stamp set to create two of the circles. The 'HELLO" circle stamp from the Everyday Circles stamp set was perfect for this sketch. I decided to leave the 'white space' on the card empty versus adding an additional sentiment.

I hope you stop by the Little Tangles blog to see more of the design team projects.
