Fun with Unity!!

It has been cold and rainy for the last few days, which means I had time to do some extra crafting! This week I decided it was time to play with my Unity Stamps! Although I made a number of projects, I can only share a couple today!

First up --- a scrapbook page. I know, I know. Somewhat out of my comfort zone, but I have been doing more and more behind the scenes and lovin' it!

I have been scared to use stamps on layouts. But because my handwriting is awful, I have come to enjoy how easy it is to add a variety of words or sentiments!
Supplies:
Unity Stamps - Bunches of Love
Crate Paper - Love Notes and Flea Market
Alpha Letters - Lily Bee Designs and AC Thickers
Studio Calico - Wooden Veneers

Next up is a card that fits with the rain that we have been enjoying:

If you have been to my blog before, you know that I LOVE to paper-piece with stamps. This fun Unity Stamp just shouts for that technique to be used! I actually wanted to figure out a way to make the umbrella twirl! So in my best Barney Stinson voice --- "Challenge Accepted!" ---for another day anyway!
Supplies:
Unity Stamps - Rain or Shine
AC Dear Lizzy - Lucky Charm
Spellbinders - Pendant Die
Cheery Lynn Designs - Clouds and Rain and Coved Rectangle

Little Tangles Challenge - Monochromatic

Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope you are enjoying your week and finding some time to create something wonderful!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Little Tangles Challenge! It is all about MONOCHROMATIC!

Here is my watercolor creation using Neat and Tangles' Kindness Matters stamp set:

I love the 'ombre' look and it is so easy to get it done using watercolors. Stamp the sentiment in white and emboss. Wipe watercolors over the embossed sentiment and watch how the sentiment jumps off the card! Continue with the watercolors moving towards the top of the card, lightening the color each time.

I cannot wait to see the creations that you come up with! Don't forget to link up your projects HERE!

Here are a few rules about the Little Tangles Challenge:

I Heart Prickley Pear + Watercolors!

I am breaking out the watercolors for my next Prickley Pear card! Who doesn't love bright pinks for Valentine's Day?

I decided to keep this one CAS with a single sentiment stamp.

A variety of pink watercolors were used to create the heart. The sentiment is stamped in black ink.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop the Prickley Pear blog for more inspiration!

Mirroring Stamps with Prickley Pear

Hello, Prickley Pear friends. It's Jessi here from Kissin' Krafts. Today I am sharing with you a very neat technique called 'mirroring'!

Have you ever had an image that your wished faced the opposite direction? I tend to favor the bottom right corners of my cards, so it looks awkward with the image is facing the right of the card. So I went on a search to try a variety of 'mirroring' technique and am sharing the best one I came across.

First you will need the following:
  • clear block
  • foam sheet
  • cling wrap
  • tape
  • fine black tip pen/marker

Cut out 2 foam sheet squares/rectangles to match the size of the clear block. Adhere the two pieces together. Stack the foam piece to the block. Now it is time to wrap the block with the cling wrap. Place a piece of cling wrap (big enough to wrap around the entire block) on a flat surface. Place the block (foam side down) and pull the cling wrap tight. Tape the ends together on the block side.

Stamp the image onto foam side. Make sure the cling wrap is wrinkle free. Stamp onto the cardstock.

When you transfer the image to the cardstock, some of the lines might be faint. Using the fine tip marker, trace the lines of the image. Once the tracing was finished, I colored the image with a variety of markers.

The last step is to piece the card together.

For this card, I used the Honeybunny (GG0191) stamp from Prickley Pear's newest release.  Make sure to stop by the Prickley Pear website and check out all the stamps part of the Spring Release!
