MPS Cold Days Challenge #2 and Practical Scrappers Challenge - Patterned Paper

I just finished this magnetic picture frame. I had a leftover piece of metal from a previous project and decided to make a spring-y frame. (The picture is of my youngest son playing with bubbles- his favorite outdoor activity!) I used two patterened papers, a ribbon, and a die-cut to accent the frame. I also made a matching magnet (didn't turn out well in the picture). The project was made with MPS challenge and Practical Scrapper Challenge in mind!

My Pink Stamper and Frosted Design Challenge

I just saw the challenge on My Pink Stamper, make something using your favorite color and black! I ran to the craft room and came up with this simple, little card. I love all different shades of blue, so I could not narrow it down to one! I used a Cuddlebug embossing folder for the mat and Spellbinders die-cuts for the scallop circles. I used a couple stamps and a light blue ribbon to embellish the card!

After I was done with the card, I started to look at the different challenges out there and found that this card also works with the Frosted Design Challenge (Embossing).

I have only done a few challenges and am having a blast. My obsession with searching the web for different blogs/challenges came from you Robyn (My Pink Stamper)! I love your website and all you videos! You are an inspiration!

Confession of a Craftaholic

I broke...

I went to Hobby Lobby today! Only reason... withdraws, shakes, whatever you want to call it! I had manage to stay away from Michael's and Hobby Lobby for more than a week! I know, I know... a week! I don't know what has gotten into me. For a while I was going to Michael's or Hobby Lobby or even both every single day and for what, I could not tell you (well, the $1 rubber stamps at Michael's are addicting)! So I vowed not to go until I needed something specific for a project. It worked for a few days and today I broke and walked though those beautiful sliding doors at Hobby Lobby. I could say that I really did need adhesives (but I didn't- however they were on sale)!

What have I started. Now I want to go to Michael's! Luckily, my daughter started screaming in the car, so we went straight home!

Whew... it feels good to get that out!

Now, when should I go to Michael's?

Practical Scrappers Challenge

I chose to complete this layout using a collection of patterned paper from Recollections. I also included ribbon and buttons to embellish the layout. Swiss dots embossig folder from Cuddlebug was used. A Paper Studio punch was used to make the tag.
My next challenge....
To clean up my craft room! Shouldn't take long, but needs to get done before I start working on the next craft!

My Weekend!

I had a fun and semi-relaxing weekend with my family! However, I did find some time to work on a quick project for a present. Our friend's son received his first communion on Sunday, I made a frame for them to add a picture. I also made a matching card. But for some reason, I forgot to take pics before I gave it to them! :(

The kiddos are napping right now, so I am off to search for my next challenge!

Have a great day!

Frosted Design Chipboard Challenge

I am loving participating in these different challenges! When I saw the chipboard challenge on Frosted Design, it motivated me to actually work on this project (the materials have been sitting in the craft room for a little while)! I loved how it turned out! I used an 8x8 wooden frame. Covered the front with a brown/pink patterned paper. The back and sides are painted with a chocolate brown. The sides have been edged with brown ink. The word and the flower design are made from chipboard that I painted pink. I added a simple button to the center of the flower to "add a little something extra". Cannot wait to see the challenge I choose tomorrow!

So I just completed my first challenge from Practical Scrappers - Embossing challenge. I kept it nice and simple (wanted to get it done before the kiddos naptime was over)! The card measures 4.25x5.5. Textured cardstock was used for the card and matting. The lovebird cutout came from the Brenda Walton Sweet Talk Postage Stamps scrapbook paper. Other materials and supplies used were Martha Stewarts Doily Lace edge punch, Cuddlebug's Swiss Dot Embossign folder and ivory satin ribbon.

The new challenge for 2010!

So I am new to this thing called blogging. For the past few weeks, I have been obsessed with looking at scrapbooking, papercrafting, etc blogs. I never realized how many are out there! Everyone is so creative and I am having a blast looking at the different ideas and constantly adding new project to my "Project To-Do" list!

One of my New Year's resolutions is that I was going to start making time for myself! Like all moms at there, I have a hard time sitting down and doing something for me! But this is the year I am going to start! I love my kids and my husband, but boy do they wear me out!

I am going to take part in this challenges I see around. They look like so much fun! I cannot wait to get started!

As for my own blog...

Well, I need a place to showcase all the challenge projects right? I have always been one that keeps a journal...so why not keep a public one on crafting! I am obsessed with crafting and too many different genres. My main love is scrapbooking and papercrafting. I spent the last year making wedding invitations and selling them on Etsy! I had so much fun and am looking to start back up (currently ending maternity leave)!

I could go into a list of the different projects I cannot wait to start, but if I list them here what else will I blog about later!
